Heading into the final week of the regular
season, Bucknell is looking to hold on to a playoff spot. This past
Sunday the team traveled to New Jersey to face Rutgers. The game ended
up coming down to a controversial call on a penalty shot. Sophomore
goaltender John Chestnut appeared to make the save on Rutgers' initial
penalty shot attempt, however after the referees conferred with one
another they allowed the Rutgers player to retake the penalty shot.
Chestnut was able to get a piece of the second attempt but the puck
trickled in to give Rutgers the eventual decisive goal as they inched
past Bucknell 4-3. Bucknell looks to rebound this weekend with a home
and home series against the divisional leader - Millersville.

After a tough overtime loss to Susquehanna in
which Bucknell squandered a 4-3 lead with 2 seconds to go in the third
period, Bucknell looked to bounce back after Thanksgiving break against a
strong Muhlenberg team. In a back and forth battle and a 3-3 tie late
in the third period senior captain Paul Bossidy threaded a
cross-crease pass to freshman Alex Peter to give Bucknell the lead and
ultimately the win. With the win over Muhlenberg, Bucknell improves to a
6-2-2 record and heads into the winter break sitting comfortably in
second place in the Western GNCHC division. The league's complete
standings can be found HERE.
